In the beginning of every December, right after the Mongolians prepare their meat to survive the winter, representatives appointed from the local governments count the heads of the five kinds of livestock by categories, genders and ages.
The National Statistical Committee of Mongolia presented the initial results of the livestock census of 2019. For the that year, the nationwide livestock census was undertaken during 7th to 17th December, with an initial result of seventy million nine hundred forty-nine thousand nine hundred /70.949.900/ heads of livestock at the end of 2019. Mongolia has reached the highest number of livestock in the history. This is an increase of four million five hundred thousand /4.500.000/, or six point eight percent /6.8%/than the previous year.
